Garage Floor Coating
Garage floor coating seals your slab against salt, oil and hot tires, laid over diamond-ground concrete in flake or solid colour. Every garage we coat is fully insured.
View Garage Floor CoatingPolyaspartic floor coating hardens in a few hours rather than days, so a garage or shop floor often takes tires again within a day, and it keeps its colour when the afternoon sun pours in.
We use polyaspartic as a full system or as a topcoat over an epoxy base. Like all of our work, it is fully insured.
Polyaspartic floor coating is a good choice for fall work in Cambridge. Many people want the garage done before the first snow, but standard epoxy cures slowly in a cold garage.
Polyaspartic cures well at lower temperatures, so the floor can be finished late in the season. A slab reading is still taken first, and if the concrete is too chilly we bring in heaters or pick another day.
Some epoxy coatings turn yellow when sunlight hits them through an open garage door. Polyaspartic floor coating resists that change and keeps its colour.
That makes it a strong topcoat for garages with west-facing doors, enclosed porches and sunrooms. It also resists hot tire marks better than many epoxy topcoats.
Our usual Cambridge garage stack is three layers: epoxy primer, broadcast chips, then polyaspartic floor coating as the clear cap. The epoxy anchors into the ground slab, and the polyaspartic shrugs off scuffs from bikes, ladders and snow shovels.
You can see the garage version on our garage floor coating page and flake colours on our epoxy flake flooring page.
Enclosed porches and covered entries get sun, snow and salt in the same year. Polyaspartic handles that mix well because it stays a little flexible and resists sunlight. We grind the concrete, fill cracks and finish with flake or a solid colour under a textured topcoat for grip on wet days.
This material starts to set within minutes of mixing. We mix small batches and work in sections so each part goes down evenly. That speed is why the floor is back in service so soon, and it is also why the prep has to be right before the first batch is opened.
Polyaspartic floor coating carries a modest premium over plain epoxy, with Canadian pricing often between $6 and $12 a square foot. The faster return to service often makes up the difference.

Plenty of Cambridge jobs pair a coating with patching or line painting on the same trip.
